Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
This page explains what data Kindwall (“we”) collects, why, and your rights. Contact: hey@kindwall.io.
What we collect
Waitlist: your email address and, optionally, the username you’d like to claim. Used only to notify you about Kindwall’s launch and your account.
Account (Sign in with LinkedIn): when you sign in, LinkedIn shares your name, email address, profile photo, headline, and public profile URL with us (OpenID Connect scopes: openid, profile, email). We store these to create your profile and to display the identity of note authors. We do not access, scrape, or store anything else from your LinkedIn account, and we never post to LinkedIn on your behalf.
Notes: the text you write on someone’s kindwall, together with a snapshot of your name, headline, photo, and profile link at the time of writing. Notes you write appear publicly ONLY after the wall owner approves them.
Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) kept briefly for security and abuse prevention (e.g. rate limiting). We do not use advertising trackers. The site sets only the cookies required for signing in.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or rent your data. Ever.
- We do not send marketing email. You’ll receive transactional email only (e.g. waitlist confirmation, launch notification, note notifications), sent from notifications@kindwall.io.
- We do not allow wall owners to edit the text of anyone’s note.
Where your data lives
Kindwall uses established, secure service providers for hosting, database, authentication, and transactional email delivery. These providers process data solely on our behalf under data-processing agreements, within the EU where available.
Public information
Your kindwall page (kindwall.io/yourusername) is public: it shows your name, photo, headline, and the notes you have approved. Notes display the author’s name, headline, photo, and a link to their LinkedIn profile. Do not write anything in a note you wouldn’t want publicly attributed to you.
Retention and deletion
- Waitlist entries are kept until launch onboarding completes, then removed or converted into accounts.
- Account data and notes are kept while your account exists.
- To delete your account and everything tied to it (profile and all notes you wrote), email hey@kindwall.io from your account email. Deletion is permanent and completed within 30 days. If you delete a note you wrote, it disappears from the wall it was written on.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you’re in the EU/EEA you can request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal data, and object to or restrict processing, by emailing hey@kindwall.io. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Legal bases: consent (waitlist, sign-in) and legitimate interest (security logs, abuse prevention).
Children
Kindwall is for professionals and is not directed at anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we’ll note it here with a new date and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email.
